Israel Preparing for Major War with Lebanon, Gaza: WikiLeaks

According to the Norwegian newspaper aftenposten, WikiLeaks documents suggest that Israel is planning for a major war in the Middle East with Gaza and Lebanon.
The article summarized an Israeli military briefing by Israeli Chief of Staff Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi of a US congressional delegation a little over a year ago and concludes that
‘ The memo on the talks between Ashkenazi and [Congressman Ike] Skelton, as well as numerous other documents from the same period of time, to which Aftenposten has gained access, leave a clear message: The Israeli military is forging ahead at full speed with preparations for a new war in the Middle East.
In 2006 Israel was engaged in a war with Lebanon and in December 2009 Israel carried out an attack on Gaza. In both conflicts thousands of civilians lost their lives.

US Sends in Aircraft Carrier as Koreas on Brink of War

As North-Korea and South-Korea escalate verbal threats after Tuesday’s artillery shells “incident” on Yeonpyeong, the US has announced its aircraft carrier USS George Washington is heading to the peninsula.
The tense events on Tuesday were only clarified later during the day when South Korea admitted to having fired shells into waters that the North Korea considers its territory.
Wednesday U.S. Forces confirmed that the “aircraft carrier USS George Washington will participate in a four-day South Korea-U.S. military exercise to take place in the West Sea from Sunday,” adding that the U.S. Navy also plans on sending in the 9,600-ton USS Cowpens, 9,750-ton USS Shiloh as well as USS Stethem and USS Fitzgerald.”

South Korea Promises “1000 Times Bigger” Revenge

As South Koreans mourned the death of two marines killed in clashes with North Korea earlier this week the Marine Corps. commander Yoo Nak-jun said “We will pay back North Korea 100 times, 1,000 times for atrociously killing and wounding our soldiers, who were the pride of the Marines.”
North Korea has warned that any further provocations similar to those which ignited the artillery exchange in the first place will be met with “a shower of dreadful fire and blow up the bulwark of the enemies if they dare to encroach again upon the DPRK’s dignity and sovereignty even in the least” read a statement on the Korean News Agency (KCNA) website.
The statement ended with “We will respond to good faith in kind but punish the provocateurs encroaching upon our dignity and sovereignty with resolute and merciless counter-action.”
South Korea is due to stage renewed military drills Sunday when the USS George Washington aircraft carrier is due to arrive in the region.

India Gives its Nuclear Capable Missile a Run for its Money

India has successfully test-fired a version of its nuclear-capable Agni-1 missile Thursday.
The missile has a range of 750 km and can be fired from mobile launchers. The test fire came amid an announcement of reinforcement of 36,000-troop along its borders with China.
The missile weighs around 12 tonnes and is capable of carrying a payload of 1000 kgs, including a nuclear warhead.
The nuclear-capable missile is part of India’s deterrent against Pakistan and China.

India Deploys 36,000 Troops to Chinese Border

India is stepping up efforts to fortify its borders with a deployment of two new army divisions of 36,000 men to the north-easter border with China.
According to BBC News 23 November, part of the troops will be based in the area of Arunachal Pradesh in order to guard a possible attack from China through Burma, while the other part will be based in Assam.
India signed a Peace and Tranquility treaty with China in 1993 agreeing on scaling down military buildup in the area. Both sides have maintained military presence to varying degrees.
In the Global Times newspaper, a Chinese expert on India wrote “Such a move aims to add chips to the upcoming China-India talks on border disputes,” adding that “Those hawkish groups in New Delhi are getting above themselves after the U.S. voiced support for India’s bid to become a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council.”

US and South Korea Begin War Games

The joint US and South Korean military exercises have gone ahead despite strong threats from North Korea as well as explicit disagreement from China.
The war games which began Sunday were intended as a show of force against North Korea, which is being blamed for the sinking of a South Korean warship incident that occured in March.
The drills include the aircraft carrier USS George Washington as well as 20 ships, 200 aircraft and 8,000 military personnel.
According to Lieutenant General Jeffrey Remington, commander of the US 7th Air Force, four F-22 Raptor stealth fighters are flying missions in and around Korea for the first time to show the commitment from Washington to deter and defeat any provocative acts from North Korea.
The military exercises, code-named “Invincible Spirit” will last for four days. The exercise on the second day consisted of simulated attacks on enemy submarines and live-fire drills by a squadron of fighter jets off the east coast, said Lee Bung-woo, a spokesman for the country’s Joint Chief of Staff according to Seoul’s Yonhap News Agency.
North Korea’s ultra powerful National Defence Commission said Saturday that it’s army “will legitimately counter with their powerful nuclear deterrence the largest-ever nuclear war exercises to be staged by the US and the South Korean puppet forces”.
The NDC said “all these war manoeuvres are nothing but outright provocations aimed to stifle the Democratic Republic of Korea by force of arms to all intents and purposes.”

North Korea Threatens Nuclear Response to War Games

North Korea threatened on Saturday to respond with nuclear deterrence to a US-South Korean war games starting Sunday, stating it was prepared for a “retaliatory sacred war”.
The threat was issued by the National Defence Commission (NDC), as tensions escalated over the sinking of a warship belonging to South Korea which Washington and Seoul blame on North Korea, despite the strong voices of doubt coming form within South Korea.
“All these war manoeuvres are nothing but outright provocations aimed to stifle the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea by force of arms to all intents and purposes,” the NDC said in a statement on Pyongyang’s official news agency.
“The army and people of the DPRK will legitimately counter with their powerful nuclear deterrence the largest-ever nuclear war exercises to be staged by the US and the South Korean puppet forces.”
The exercise “is as reckless an act as waking up a sleeping tiger”, it said insinuating that the military exercises were a training for a nuclear war.
The North’s people and army would “start a retaliatory sacred war of their own style based on nuclear deterrent any time necessary” to counter the US and South Korea, which were pushing the situation to the brink of war, it said.
8,000 U.S. military personell are scheduled to take part in military exercises with South Korea starting Sunday. In addition to the 8,000 personnel involved, military officials say, 20 ships and submarines as well as 200 aircraft and the aircraft carrier USS George Washington will also participate.
China has voiced strong objection to the war games in the Yellow Sea, so close to its coastline.

Vostok-2010 – Unprecedented War Games in Full Swing in Russia’s Far East

Over 20,000 troops, 70 combat planes as well as 30 Russian warships are taking part in the Vostok-2010 war games currently active in several Russian regions bordering China and Mongolia. The war games began June 29 and will continue until July 8.
For the first time in Russia’s modern history these military exercises are acted out together with warships of three fleets, the Black Sea, Pacific and Northern Fleets reports The Hindu.com. The exercises also involve Sukhoi Su-24M frontline bombers and Su-34 multi-role fighters, which were redeployed from bases in Western Russia 8,000 km away. The war planes completed non-stop flights with two successful in-flight refueling.
The exercises will include the firing of live ammunition, simulated airborne assaults and amphibious assault landings.
Military analyst Alexander Golts affirmed that “Russia is conducting these operations to reassure itself it can still control these sparsely populated regions,”. Chief of the General Staff Army Gen Nikolai Makarov said “This exercise… is not directed against any concrete country of military-political blox. It has purely defensive nature in ensuring the security of national interests of the state in the Far East,”
Chinese military officials attend Vostok-2010
According to the press service of the Siberian military district, a Chinese military delegation arrived in Siberia on Sunday, to attend the Vostok-2010 military exercises.
“The Chinese delegation will attend a key phase of the Vostok-2010 drills at the Tsugol training grounds,” the press service said in a statement.
Russian military war Games
Russian war games held last year, simulated attack and counter-attack on NATO member states along the Russian borders. Russia’s Vostok strategic command-and-staff exercises are held every two years.

U.S. The Crossroads of History

America’s superpower status may be tested and found wanting if, urged on by Israel it opts for what it sees as a pre-emptive strike against Iran. The argument that the Persian nation will acquire a nuclear potential if not checked is a red herring; it is as transparently false as Iraq’s mythical ‘weapons of mass destruction.’
There is no credible evidence that Iran has any interest in developing such a capability. It simply doesn’t need one to wage war or defend itself. Iran’s conventional weaponry already has the capability to take out their only belligerent; Israel.
Should Israel succumb in a retaliatory war the real fallout would be a world changed beyond all recognition. America would retreat into isolationism, distracted by internal disintegration, followed by a global power and influence shift of seismic proportions.
Strategically Dumb
Israeli-American mutual alliance dependency (MAD) may prove once again to be strategically dumb. Any historical analysis of Israeli ambitions reveals catastrophic failure and human suffering. Its short history (Israel was founded in 1948) is already unique in terms of poor errors of judgement.
Despite its enormous power and global lobby Israel is still the most vulnerable and disliked nation on earth, wholly dependent upon aid and fiscal retribution. Its track record is already a textbook lesson in strategic and diplomatic blunders.
The distinguished Israeli psychiatrist Moshe Yatom recently blew his own brains out. He did so because in his own words his boss, Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, is inherently loopy. Before taking his own life he said Netanyahu is so schizophrenic he would swear ‘Mahatma Gandhi invented brass knuckles.’ America should remember that one is known by the company one keeps.
U.S. Supremacy Fragile
American omnipotence is an illusion. Like all colossus it has its vulnerabilities, which are already being tested. There may never be another Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Dresden or Hamburg: The world has moved on as has the nature of war. Should hostilities break out between USrael and Iran the alternatives to conventional warfare are likely to prove decisive and the Third World War could be over in days. Israel would be vaporised. This is what Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad meant when he said ‘Israel would cease to exist.’
ONE STRIKE AND YOU ARE OUT!
Electro-Magnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack
American reliance on super technology makes it the most vulnerable nation on earth to an EMP attack. Countries likely to be dragged into war’s conflagration have an EMP warfare capability. Launched from an ICBM or satellite it can in a split second cripple America’s entire communications system. From the home PC to the Pentagon the system would be back to basics by which I mean Red Indian smoke signals.
Cyber Attack
The entire U.S. computer network system from local schools to supermarkets; the small town lawyer’s office to international defence systems and commercial networks are vulnerable to cyber attack. In peacetime the system is an asset but in war a liability. A few key strokes on a laptop by cyber-warriors can take out the American system. Are you sceptical? If European schoolchildren can penetrate the bowels of America’s communication systems think what a sophisticated nation can do. The Taliban are ‘Stone Age warriors’ but with primitive weapons they are bleeding America dry.
It is estimated that America’s (and Israel’s) potential adversaries already have the cyber capability to sabotage military establishments; stock exchange, defence industries; transport and communications systems.
The vulnerability of modern telecommunication and infrastructure systems renders them obsolete. The United States under attack and its communications system disabled would descend into anarchy.
Oil Imports: America’s Umbilical Cord
America is 75 per-cent dependent upon imported oil. 23.5 per-cent comes through the Persian Gulf, a no-go zone in the event of conflict. The simple mining of the Strait of Hormuz and America’s Achilles heel is severed. Only Russia, the U.S. and China have more sea mines than does Iran. These are far more potent than are nuclear weapons.
Iran’s geographical position puts its thumb on America’s jugular. It would also affect supplies to other countries such as Japan and Europe. 60 per-cent of Europe’s oil is drawn through waters easily controlled by Iran. The EU is seen as an ally of Israel and this would not be the first time Europe has been prostrated by imprudent alliance.
Simultaneously China’s military and commercial position would be enhanced to the detriment of the U.S. The Far East giant draws its oil and gas imports from Russia and Iran via a Kazakhstan supply network; hence the importance of American and British influence in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The U.S. Dollar on the Ropes
The load-bearing pillar of American superpower status is the U.S. dollar as the predominant reserve currency. It is the international currency for the purchase of oil and other commodities essential to world trade. Many countries are already switching their reserves. The Russian rouble is to be ditched as an alternative to the U.S. dollar. If there is acceleration of the present run on the U.S. dollar it will collapse.
America too has a reserve currency in place should the unthinkable happen because, it is no longer unthinkable. China, the Russian Federation, and Iran have the power to topple the U.S. dollar’s supremacy. If China, which is on the verge of holding in excess of $1 trillion in reserve currencies, does switch to gold, the euro or the yen, the U.S. dollar is toast.
America debt is far higher than are its assets and trade potential. It is a nation awaiting the receiver’s rap on the door. The U.S. is borrowing $2.5 billion every day simply to finance the gap between income and expenditure. If the Israeli lobby can be cleared from the bridge of the American Titanic it can get back to rearranging the deckchairs. The Israeli lobby dragged the U.S into World War Two. Will it drag it into World War Three?

  1. World war 3 started at 9/11 !
This war will be fought by the powers that be against the unsuspecting naive public who have been bullied and scared into becoming a race of sheep. The outcome of this war will be a "New World Order".
In a sense this will be the end of the world as we currently know it.
